Management and Leadership Greg McPherson, President Greg’s vision, combined with his strong leadership and team building skills, have helped develop McPherson Management Ltd. into one of the most dynamic Association Management and Conference Management firms in Canada. As President of McPherson Management, Greg oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm, its marketing and communications efforts and management of company/client relationships. Greg ensures that the management and administrative team delivers a consistent, quality level of service to fully meet the needs and expectations of all McPherson Management clients. As an association management specialist, Greg provides management/leadership expertise and specialized administrative services to all clients of McPherson Management Ltd. He has assisted associations through reorganization periods, developed policies and procedures, coordinated marketing and communications programs, and has planned and managed conferences, trade shows and special events. Greg has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary majoring in Geography. Prior to joining McPherson Management Ltd., Greg spent several years with an environmental consulting company conducting fisheries and wildlife studies both in the field and in the office. He co-authored several reports relating to fisheries and wildlife research. Greg then joined a mapping software company in Calgary as Marketing Manager, conducting market research, developing marketing strategies and implementing and coordinating all marketing activities for the company. In 2000, Greg joined McPherson Management Ltd. with a developed vision for the company and has helped transform the company into a leader in the Association Management and Conference Planning industry in Canada.
The Association Coordinator is responsible for providing all of the contracted administrative support services including membership management, event management, website maintenance, board meeting support, minute taking and general office administration. The Coordinator maintains an active awareness of the Association and related industry and provides ongoing communication with the Executive and Committee Chairs to support the smooth functioning of the Association and the delivery of membership services. The Association Coordinator is supported by all staff at McPherson Management. All members of our team are familiar with our client associations and can provide support as necessary throughout the year. McPherson Management Ltd. offers a personalized approach to providing administrative support to our clients. We provide experienced professionals whose qualifications best match the needs, culture and industry background of our client associations. As required, we will bring on new staff to provide services to new clients. At the association’s request, we will involve the association in this process. The end result is that you will have a qualified and experienced association team that best fits your association’s profile and needs. While staff assignments remain within the control of McPherson Management Ltd., every effort is made to ensure that our clients receive high quality services from well qualified personnel who work well with the association and take an active interest in the association’s activities and success. Stephen Thomas, Association Coordinator Stephen obtained a bachelor’s degree in communication in public relations from Mount Royal University where he published two major studies about behavior roles in crowdfunding for the Journal of Computer and Human Interaction. At the same time, Stephen co-founded an 18,000 square foot independent grocery store in downtown Calgary.
McPherson Management’s Finance / Bookkeeper provides financial management and support throughout the year for our clients, producing timely monthly financial statements, government reports and working with the auditor at the end of the year. The work is carried out with ongoing communication primarily with the Association Coordinator and the association’s Treasurer and President. Colleen Parker, Finance / Bookkeeper Colleen Parker joined McPherson Management Ltd. in June 2009 as the company’s Finance / Bookkeeper. She provides accounting and bookkeeping services for our clients directing their financial activities and budgets throughout the year. Colleen has been trained in various software packages including Simply Accounting and Quickbooks. Her financial reports are accurate, timely and clearly thought out capturing various statistics throughout the process to allow for tracking and planning for the future.
